When you choose us to build your custom home on your land, you’re not just getting a builder — you’re gaining a partner. Here’s what you can expect:
1. Rougth Estimate
We start with a rough estimate of your plan or idea for a plan. This will be detailed, but just an order of magnitude estimate at this point since there are so many unknowns at this point. We are transparent with the cost.
2. First Meeting
In this meeting we will go though the rough estimate together line by line. We will modify the estimate based on your information. We will discuss what it takes to turn all the unknowns, into knowns.
3. House Plan
Draw or purchase the house plan. Sometimes we can purchase a plan that meets your needs and sometimes we draw a new plan. If we draw the plan, our software will give us 3D views of the home.
4. Selections
You and the interior decorator make all the selections for your new home. We get quotes back from these suppliers. We will also get subcontractor quotes. Our rough estimate becomes much more accurate.
5. Site Evaluation
We test the soil for load-bearing capacity and perc if necessary. We measure the elevation change with a laser. It’s very important to do these up front, to stay in budget.
6. Finance
At this point, we should have a very good estimate. We can submit it to the bank and apply for a construction loan.
7. Start Contruction
At this point, we have done so much to plan the project, it’s time to execute that plan. We will have you review certain things along the way. But so many of the questions have already been answered.
